Every third Saturday of the month, KFMB hosts volunteer events that are open for all. If you're looking for an opportunity to preserve the unique natural environment of this town, we encourage you to join forces with like-minded individuals in your community at these fun events. These volunteer opportunities are announced regularly here on our website as well as on our social media, so be sure to check in with us!

Semi-Annual Events

The Trash-Off is an excellent opportunity to clean up the community and compete to find the oddest items while doing so! Each Spring and Fall, you can do your part in keeping Flower Mound beautiful. We appreciate all the people that make this town a home. Coming out to show your appreciation for your hometown furthers our mission of actively maintaining the beautiful cycle of balance and reciprocation between humans and nature. Find out more about these events as we announce more details twice a year. We'd love to see you there with us!

Honor Society, Scouting or Individual Community Service

For those of you amazing students in honor societies or scouts, and those wishing to add to their resume, we will officially authorize your time with us as approved hours of community service for your organizations. We encourage you to log your hours of hard work through Track It Forward. Please use the “Trash Pick Up: Honor Society“,  "Trash Pick Up: Scouts" or "Trash Pick Up: Individual" activity option when logging hours. We look forward to working with you! You can provide your own grabber and bags or borrow a grabber to use and some trash bags from Pat at Roosters Men's Grooming Center - 2500 Cross Timbers (next to La Madeleine).  You will need to return the grabber when you are done completing your hours. 

Become a Board Member

Our board of directors would love to gain insight from someone with experience and wisdom concerning how we can better benefit the natural environment of Flower Mound. We are looking for individuals willing to volunteer their time and lift their voice toward our common goal of preserving the beauty of our town. We have high expectations for our board members, as they will be held in high regards for their hard work in the community. If you are interested, email us with a cover letter of your qualifications and motivations for the position. We can't wait to hear from you!

We're looking for Grant Writers

Our organization strives toward environmental ethics to build a better world in your own backyard, and we need your help to gain official recognition for our hard work. In order to continue our initiative and innovation, we require external funding to supplement the financial support of our generous donors. In order to do our best as a support system for our community, we need a person on our team that will provide the power of the pen when writing official grants. The ideal candidate has writing experience, expertise of the English language, and eloquent dictation. The position would require close attention and flexibility during the submission process for approval when it comes to revising and editing. Volunteers experienced in Construction, Building Repairs, Landscaping

KFMB is seeking volunteers for our Lend-A-Hand program who have experience in construction and/or external home repairs such as fencing, siding, gutters, fascia, etc. If you have a background in these areas of skilled labor, we need your help. We want to provide outdoor home repairs to Flower Mound residents who are otherwise unable to accomplish it themselves due to age, illness, or loss of income. If you can spare your time and skills to assist your neighbors, please consider volunteering with us through this wonderful and compassionate program. A good neighborhood can only be built by good neighbors.

Organize a Group Event

Do you or your associates have an idea for an event that can help the environment? KFMB can provide guidance to turn your thoughts into reality.  We are more than happy to help organize and provide supplies to carry out trash pick-up. We can also advise locations that could use some extra help, should you need counsel. Feel free to contact us with your ideas and how we can help you accomplish your goal. We'd love to hear more about your recommendations on how your group can contribute to keep Flower Mound beautiful!

Participate in our new Environmental Initiative

This is your opportunity to help the environment on your own schedule. Are you ready to do your part to keep Flower Mound beautiful, but don't have the opportunity to join us on our other scheduled endeavors? Then this initiative is an easy process for you, your friends, and/or families to pick up trash at your convenience. Simply let us know that you are interested, and we can schedule a time for you to collect supplies so that you have everything you need to help clean up the town. It may seem like there is a lot of work to be done, but with your help, the world will see what an incredible difference one person can make.
