Bags to Benches

 The KFMB “Bags to Benches” program is a partnership with the Trex Company to recycle plastic film and keep it out of landfills.  Trex makes composite decking material and outdoor furniture out of reclaimed wood and plastic film.

Look for the containers at the Flower Mound Community Activity Center (main entrance vestibule), Library (South entrance), and Bridlewood Amenity Center (outside front entrance), as well as the Senior Center.

If we collect 500 pounds of plastic film during each six-month period, we will receive a new bench made of recycled materials for our town! So far, we have provided benches to the Library, CAC, Senior Center and the Bridlewood HOA Amenity Center.

Drop off your empty, clean plastic film to help us meet our goal!

Accepted items include:

Plastic films labeled with #2 or #4 recycling symbol

Pallet wrap and stretch film
Grocery bags
Bread bags
Case overwrap
Dry cleaning bags
Newspaper sleeves
Ice bags
Wood pellet bags
Ziplock and other re-closable Food storage bags
Produce bags
Bubble wrap and air pillow
Salt bags
Cereal bags
Plastic padded envelopes
